The Aylesbury Business Excellence Awards took place on Friday 2nd February and Vantage IT Solutions won the award for Best Business Website. Please forgive us for blowing our own trumpet, but we are very proud to have won the award. Our website was entirely designed and created by ourselves because we wanted to give potential customers an understanding of who we are, how we can help and the level of service that would be provided. We wanted the message to be clear that customers would receive a service that was not only of the highest quality, but also trustworthy and friendly.

The judges for the Best Business Website came from one of the sponsors of the Aylesbury Business Excellence Awards, E-T-A Circuit Breakers Limited of Aylesbury. Their judgement was, of course, very astute and stated:

“A highly professional site in terms of layout, ease of navigation, design and content with clear statements of its objectives and effectiveness. The judges were agreed in selecting this as the winning site and were impressed by its clarity, the effort which obviously went into its development and the commitment to keeping it up to date. The values which the Company holds, and its dedication to achieving the highest levels of service are well communicated, and the traffic generated by the site is closely monitored to ensure its continued success.”

Vantage Supplies Mobile Phones

Vantage IT is now able to supply mobile phones and airtime contracts. Because of the convergence of data and phone technologies, we felt it would help our customers if we could give them a single point of contact. There is an increased use of mobile email solutions such as OpenHand on normal phone handsets, so we are now able to supply the entire package - the airtime, the phone and OpenHand.

Back to the Future

What the US calls Daylight Saving Time (and most others call Summer Time) is starting a few weeks earlier in the US and Canada this year. This may not be that relevant for most people in their daily work, but for those who have computer systems linked to the US or who deal with the US, remember it begins on March 11th. There have been a few news articles talking of fears that computer systems may not be ready for the early change but most industry analysts don’t foresee any major issues...allegedly!!!


Sorry For Repeating Ourselves

Just days after numerous security patches were released by Microsoft for applications such as Word and Excel, it has been announced that more vulnerabilities have been found. The message remains the same - do not open documents unless they are from a trusted source. If someone sends you a document, do be aware that it can potentially contain viruses.
