It's been a while since we last published a newsletter and we've been saving up for this one some really useful additions to the products and services you can receive from Vantage IT.

Stopping the Spam Spam, spam, spam, spam. Will it ever stop? Well, with the help of Vantage IT, it could. Vantage IT has introduced a spam filtering service to save your Inbox from being overloaded. With our new service, your incoming emails can be scanned before they even reach your network, thereby improving the performance of both your server and your internet connection. It’s clever too as it learns what emails are spam, so as the spammers change their methods, it can keep up with them. When you send emails, the recipients' addresses are automatically added to the spam filter, so when they email you, they are not inadvertently blocked. And if all that were not enough, it scans for viruses as well. This results in a massive reduction in spam and infected emails. We’ll start by apologising to anyone called Pat - we’re not suggesting you need a check-up. PAT stands for 'Portable Appliance Testing' and applies to every mains powered electrical product that can be unplugged from a mains socket (computers, printers, fans, franking machines and even extension leads!). Most organisations are subject to the Electricity at Work Regulations and require PAT testing to be carried out. In many cases, insurance companies now insist on it. Each appliance is tested to ensure it is safe to be used and any problems found are corrected. The good news is that Vantage IT can now arrange this for you. We can organise your PAT testing with a company that has the same high standards we do. They will test all your appliances and provide detailed results and certification. As PAT testing should be carried out at regular intervals, you will be reminded when the next testing should be carried out. Please click here if you would like more information about PAT testing. Is your Server in a Safe Environment? Do you know if your server is too hot, too cold or too damp? If air conditioning fails or a water pipe bursts when there is no one around, it won't be too long before your business is without its server, with both the server and your business at risk of permanent damage. 
Vantage IT can now supply and install environmental monitoring equipment that constantly monitors a room’s environment and, in the event of a problem, can send emails, text messages and call people to alert them of the situation.
